Overview

This quad biking tour takes you to see the Northern Lights by the beautiful Hafravatn lake and Mount Hafrafell. There you will also have a great view over Reykjavik, Mosfellsbær and other towns close by. We will enjoy to look at the stars also, try to see some Shooting Stars to make a wish for endless whisses if we have to wait for the Northern Lights to show up. Join this tour for a unique experience of driving an quad bike at night to hunt for the Northern Lights.

We pick up from all hotels in the Reykjavik area if it is possible. But note that the Reykjavik city has made a non pickup zones for tourist in the city centre so we pick up from special tourists bus stops over there. The nearest Tourists Bus stop is usually not far away.

If you decide to meet us at the meeting point our basecamp is only 20 minutes from city centre Reykjavik.

  • What's includedWhat's includedAll you need is a driving licence warm and good socks and shoes and warm clothes, we provide riding gear, helmets and gloves.
  • What's includedWhat's includedDouble Ride is the standard rate in this tour and that means two people on each quad if you do not select "Single Ride" in the booking progress for little extra.

Know before you book

  • Not recommended for travellers with spinal injuries

  • Travellers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • Bring Phone with good camera with you. The newest phones can capture the Northern Lights but not the old one. We recommend Iphone 11 or better, the new Google phone and other with night mode or possibilities of few seconds open shutter mode.
  • Drivers need full driving licence to drive the quad bike´s. Passenger can be from 6 years old.
  • We recommend to wear all your layers, warm shoes and socks, have handwarmers and footwarmers and scarf or good buff for your neck. It can be cold on the Quads.

If it is possible to go to the mountain you will also have a great view over Reykjavik, Mosfellsbær and other towns close by. We only go if there is possibility for clear sky. Join this tour for a unique experience of driving an quad bike at night to hunt for the Northern Lights. Follow a guide along rugged trails through the Icelandic countryside and discover top natural sites of interest including Hafravatn Lake and Mt. Hafrafell. Enjoy panoramic views over to nearby towns such as Mosfellsbær. If we have to wait for the lights we do starchasing and look for "shooting stars" to make the wish for endless whisses. In this tour you can go Single Ride or Double Ride. Double Ride is the standard rate and that means two people are on each quad. You can select "Single Ride" in the booking progress and pay a little extra if you dont want to share the Quad and go single ride to the tour.
