What you can expect

Step inside a real, working fish factory in Nordvågen, where the catches from the ocean come ashore. Take a guided tour through the entire production, from dock to finished product.

Meet your guide, one of the factory workers, and walk through the building. Learn how fish and king crab come ashore, are processed, and prepared for both local tables and international export.

Along the way, learn about stockfish, one of Norway's oldest export trades, see live king crab, and discover how strict quotas and modern technology work together with skill and tradition to safeguard resources.

The experience engages all five senses. Expect sounds, smells, and hands-on moments — this is not a passive visit.

The tour wraps up with a tasting of three of the factory's products: boiled king crab, dried stockfish, and sugar-salted smoked Norwegian caviar. After the tasting, browse souvenirs in the gift shop, including locally crafted jewellery and keepsakes featuring otoliths — the lucky stones found inside cod heads.
