This tour operates aboard our spacious 55-foot catamaran. The vessel’s stable double-hull design provides a smooth, comfortable ride, creating a relaxed setting for this remarkable nighttime adventure.

After sunset, you’ll enter the water and float at the surface as majestic manta rays glide, swoop, and barrel roll beneath you. These gentle giants — with wingspans that can exceed 15 feet — visit this area regularly to feed on plankton attracted by specialised lighting.

Manta sightings occur the vast majority of nights, making this one of Kona’s most consistently successful wildlife experiences. While wildlife is never guaranteed, encounters are highly reliable and often breathtaking.

Designed for comfort and ease, our catamaran features swim steps for simple water entry and exit — no steep ladders to climb at the end of your snorkel. After your time in the water, warm up with hot soup, bread rolls, and hot drinks including tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. Snorkel gear, wetsuit, and professional instruction are included. Beer and wine are available for purchase.

Our Manta Confidence Policy

If mantas do not appear during your tour, you’re welcome to join us one additional time free of charge (space available). If mantas are seen during your scheduled tour, the experience is considered fulfilled.

This policy reflects our confidence in the experience — not its rarity.

Our crew follows responsible wildlife viewing practices designed to protect the mantas and their natural feeding behaviour, helping ensure this extraordinary encounter can be enjoyed for generations to come.

Guests must be 7 years or older, able to swim unassisted, and have prior snorkelling experience.
