Day 1: Nairobi - Maasai Mara
Get picked up from your hotel or residence in Nairobi and begin your journey to the Maasai Mara. Stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for breathtaking views of the valley floor. After checking in, head out for an afternoon game drive.
Join other travellers from around the world and search for Africa's Big Five, big cats, and a wide range of other wildlife. The Maasai Mara is one of Africa’s most famous parks, known for its superb wildlife viewing year-round. The grassy plains and regular rainfall support a huge population of herbivores, attracting many predators. All three big cats are relatively easy to see.
Accommodation included: Budget camp accommodation.
Day 2: Full Day Maasai Mara
Spend the full day exploring the Maasai Mara in search of the Big Five. Enjoy picnic lunches in the reserve as you take in the beauty of the Mara, situated at the banks of the Mara River.
In the evening, visit a local Maasai village for a cultural tour (at extra cost, USD 20 per person). Learn about the Maasai community and interact with the local Maasai people. Alternatively, opt for a balloon safari (USD 450 per person) early in the morning, then proceed with the normal programme.
Witness the great migration, the annual movement of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.
Accommodation included: Budget camp accommodation.
Day 3: Maasai Mara - Nakuru
After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, with a picnic lunch on the way. Arrive in the evening. Lake Nakuru is home to large numbers of Greater and Lesser Flamingoes, white and black rhinos, buffalos, lions, zebras, gazelles, and over 450 species of terrestrial and water birds.
Accommodation included: Budget accommodation.
Day 4: Nakuru - Nairobi
Enjoy an early breakfast and head straight to the park. Lake Nakuru is a small park with magnificent, rare white rhinos, which form part of the Big Five animals. There is also a possibility to see the pink flamingos.
The game drive lasts 3 hours, after which you depart on a 3-hour drive back to Nairobi.
