Our tour begins at the Palace of Justice in Brussels, where a panoramic view welcomes us as we explore how music has shaped the city's evolution. Accompanied by evocative melodies, we immerse ourselves in the history of Brussels and its relationship with music.
We make our way down to Place du Petit Sablon, the former site of Count Egmont's palace, near the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, the birthplace of great artists and the epicentre of music education in Belgium.
The tour continues to the Musical Instruments Museum, where we explore sounds from around the world and discover the history of the saxophone, invented by the Belgian Adolphe Sax.
We also relive the importance of music in independence movements, listening to pieces that have served as anthems of change and resistance. We will listen to the influence of African music on Brussels from the famous Monts de Artes viewpoint, now home to the city's most important art museums.
We continue with a tribute right at the Fondation Jacques Brel, dedicated to the renowned Brussels artist who left his mark on the chanson genre. His music remains a symbol of profound emotional expression and Belgian identity.
Next, we head to the most irreverent statue in the city, which has inspired songs and festivals over the centuries: the Manneken-Pis.
Once on the Grand-Place, the vibrant heart of the city, we will discover its connection with major festivals and concerts. This space, recognised as a World Heritage Site, has been the setting for musical events that have brought the city to life for centuries, such as the Ommegang, a UNESCO-designated cultural heritage festival.
The tour takes us to a symbol of Brussels' social and cultural evolution. In the past, it served as a meeting point for musical events, reflecting the close relationship between music and the city's transformation over centuries of existence.
Finally, we arrive at the cradle of Belgian opera. Surrounded by its imposing architecture, we relive excerpts from the most famous operas and conclude the tour with an unforgettable sound experience, gaining a deeper understanding of why music is freedom.
Throughout the tour, each stop is accompanied by a special musical selection, captivating stories, and the opportunity to experience the city through its sounds and its history.
