The iconic torii gate of Hakone Shrine, known as the "Peace Torii," stands majestically on the shores of Lake Ashi, appearing to float on the water. This striking vermilion gate is one of the most photographed landmarks in Hakone and offers a breathtaking contrast against the natural beauty of the lake and surrounding mountains. Travellers can walk down a stone path through the forest to reach the lakeside, where the torii offers a perfect backdrop for photos and a moment of reflection. The scene is especially captivating on clear days when Mount Fuji rises in the background, creating a truly unforgettable view. Set sail on a whimsical adventure aboard the Hakone Pirate Ship, a replica of an 18th-century vessel that cruises the scenic waters of Lake Ashi. As you glide across the lake, you'll be surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Hakone’s lush mountains, the iconic floating torii gate of Hakone Shrine, and—on clear days—the majestic Mount Fuji in the distance. Each ship in the fleet is uniquely themed, complete with decorative cannons, wooden decks, and lavish interiors, adding a playful yet immersive touch to the journey. The calm, family-friendly ride typically lasts 30–40 minutes, offering countless photo opportunities and a relaxing way to enjoy Hakone’s natural and cultural wonders. You can choose to take the pirate ship from Motohakocho Port to Togendai Port at your own expense. The one-way trip takes about 30 minutes and costs 1,200 yen. You can also take our bus to Togendai Cable Car Station.

Experience the breathtaking journey aboard the Hakone Ropeway, a scenic cable car ride offering panoramic views of Japan’s natural beauty. Starting from Sounzan Station, the ropeway ascends over lush forests and dramatic landscapes, arriving at Owakudani, a volcanic valley famous for its steaming sulphur vents and the unique black eggs boiled in natural hot springs. As the gondola continues towards Togendai Station on the shores of Lake Ashi, travellers are treated to stunning aerial views of the lake and, on clear days, the iconic silhouette of Mount Fuji in the distance. The Hakone Ropeway Owakudani Station ~ Ubako Station ~ Togendai Station will be under maintenance from February 3 to February 21, 2025, and this line will be temporarily closed during this period. During this period, we will take the cable car line from Sounzan Station to Owakudani Station

At Owakudani, travellers will witness the raw, volcanic beauty of one of Hakone’s most iconic destinations. Formed during the last eruption of Mount Hakone over 3,000 years ago, this active volcanic valley is famous for its steaming vents, bubbling hot springs, and sulfurous fumes rising from the earth. Visitors can walk along designated trails to get close to the geothermal activity and experience the unique landscape up close. A highlight of the visit is tasting the legendary “black eggs” (Kuro-Tamago), boiled in the natural hot springs and said to extend one’s life by seven years. On clear days, Owakudani also offers stunning panoramic views of Mount Fuji, making it a perfect spot for dramatic photography and unforgettable memories in Japan’s volcanic heartland.

Shiratorihama Beach of Lake Yamanaka is not only a good place to observe wild birds, but also a great place to take photos of swans with Mount Fuji in the background. You can take life-like photos of swans and Mount Fuji in the same frame.

At Oshino Hakkai, travellers will discover a picturesque village nestled between Lake Kawaguchi and Lake Yamanaka, famous for its eight crystal-clear spring ponds formed by snowmelt from Mount Fuji. These natural springs, filtered through volcanic rock for decades, create serene, mirror-like reflections of the surrounding scenery. As you stroll through the village, you'll encounter charming thatched-roof houses, wooden bridges, and water wheels, offering a glimpse into traditional rural Japan. Visitors can sample the fresh, pure spring water—renowned as one of Japan’s best—and explore local food stalls, souvenir shops, and the Hannoki Bayashi open-air museum. On clear days, the majestic Mount Fuji rises in the background, making Oshino Hakkai a perfect spot for photography and peaceful exploration.
