What you can expect

Sip and Stargaze. Begin your evening with a refined dining experience at The Moraine, where you’ll savour fresh and innovative cuisine. After dinner, head to the Pukaki Observatory for a stargazing experience with an astronomer.

The purpose-built observatory features a retractable roof and a 9-inch reflector telescope. When the roof recedes, the observatory walls frame a breathtaking window to the stars. Use the telescope to see the rings of Saturn and bands of Jupiter, as well as sparkling star clusters, nebulae, and planets. On special nights, you may also get a glimpse of the Southern Lights, or Aurora Australis.

Before heading to the observatory, enjoy a welcome drink in the wine cellar, where you’ll be introduced to the Southern sky and the spectacular stargazing experience to come.
