What you can expect
Observe the outstanding natural beauty of Milford Sound, highly acclaimed as one of the world's top travel destinations, from the air and on water. Take to the skies, fly over the dramatic landscape of forests and mountains, and then enjoy a cruise over the glacial waters.
Described by the distinguished author Rudyard Kipling as the eighth wonder of the world, Milford Sound is one of the country's top destinations. Flying over the fjord reveals panoramas of the entire area; gaze out from your plane and admire steep hillsides covered with forest, snow-capped peaks, and glacial lakes nestling in the dramatic landscape.
Once you're back on the ground, board your cruise boat to explore the famous inlet from the water. Keep your eyes peeled for native wildlife as dolphins play in the wake of the boat, seals and penguins bask on the shores, and a variety of birds circle overhead.
As you begin to understand the sheer scale of this majestic area, appreciate both unique perspectives of being in the air and on the ground. Enjoy one last look at the striking scenery on your flight back to Queenstown.
