What you can expect

  • Explore Casa Ortega, the first architectural project by Luis Barragán and a key precursor to his mature style. Built between 1940 and 1942, this private residence reflects the transitional moment when Barragán began to move away from European influences to embrace a uniquely Mexican modernism. Located in the Daniel Garza area—just steps from where he would later build his house and studio—Casa Ortega is a refined composition of clean lines, vibrant colours, and integrated gardens.

For architects and design professionals, this space offers a rare glimpse into Barragán’s evolving language of light, space, silence, and spirituality.

The tour includes admission, guided access to both the interior and garden, and permission to take photographs during the visit.

An intimate and enriching experience for those passionate about architecture and modern Mexican design.
