What you can expect

Dive into the medieval history of Oviedo, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Asturias. We'll set off from Plaza Feijoo, where we'll discover the origins of the city. We'll visit the exterior of the Cathedral and the remains of the Palace of Alfonso II, the king who promoted the Camino de Santiago. We'll continue exploring archaeological points like the Church of San Tirso, the Fuente de la Rúa, and the Foncalada, one of the few civil pre-Romanesque vestiges that are preserved. Along the way, you'll get to see the Castle of Alfonso III and its old palace, which reflects the positioning of Asturian power. We'll end up at the Church of Santuyano, famous for its well-preserved mural paintings, thus closing this deep dive into the medieval history of Oviedo.
