What you can expect

We will pick you up in the morning from your hotel in Arusha, Karatu or upon your arrival at Arusha airport in a clean airconditioned vehicle and drive 2 hrs to Mto wa mbu village. Mto wa mbu village is still an authentic cultural village home to about 120 ethnic tribes who are living in peace and harmony.
We will start by visiting an authentic Maasai community which is located a short distance outside the small town, offering a unique opportunity to connect with its members. Step into their world, witness their daily life, and gain a deeper understanding of their traditions, customs, and way of life.
During your visit to the Maasai village, you will have the chance to engage in meaningful cultural exchanges. Interact with Maasai elders, warriors, and artisans, who will share stories and insights about their rich heritage. Learn about their traditional practices, such as beadwork, music, and dance, and if available, even participate in fixing a Maasai house together and engage in the other activities.
A genuine cultural exchange fosters mutual respect and appreciation while promoting cross-cultural understanding. This immersive experience allows you to form genuine connections and create lasting memories.

In the afternoon we will get back to the village for a hot traditionally prepared lunch and a cultural visit, Mto wa mbu village is Bustling with a variety of cultures from around Tanzania, the little town lies at the entrance to Lake Manyara National Park. A local agricultural hub, the town is famous for its crops of rice and the distinctive red bananas that Tanzania is known for. Exploring the town in the company of a local guide gives travellers the opportunity to interact with local farmers, as well as artisans, craftsmen and painters. A sampling of the local banana beer adds a unique taste of local flavour.
This cross-cultural melting pot is home to approximately 120 tribes. A bustling, thriving village, it is fascinating to hear the colourful blend of languages and witness first-hand the unique customs. Cultural diversity is seen in the various entrepreneurial ways including palm oil production, Rangi creating colourful, beautiful mats and baskets using papyrus from the lakes and rivers.
We leave the village in the late afternoon (just before sunset) and return relaxed to your hotel in Arusha or Karatu.
