See with your own eyes the Philippines’ “Beautiful Disaster” as popularised by a local film. Located in the north of Metro Manila is the ever-active and famous volcano, Mount Pinatubo. The volcano was famous for two reasons– its hypnotising beauty and its disastrous eruption in 1991 that was felt worldwide as the “lahar” or mudflow wiped out the locals’ livelihood and negatively impacted the tourism industry in the area.
Safely back on track, a challenging trek will unquestionably complete your Mount Pinatubo experience. The thrilling journey will start with a scenic 4 x 4 ride to the hike’s starting point. Be prepared to cross tiny rivers under the sweltering sun as it won’t be simple, but that adds to the beauty of trekking in Mount Pinatubo… it will be undoubtedly remarkable!
Along the way we will have a glimpse into the live of the Aeta people, which have been established as one of the first indigenous communities to migrate to the Philippines, Mount Pinatubo has served as their haven for thousands of years and this is the perfect opportunity to immerse in their culture and way of life.
