Activity itinerary

Plaza Mayor (Pass by)

You arrive at the most beautiful square in Spain, Plaza Mayor or Major Square.

Chocolatería San Ginés (Pass by)

You pass a Madrid institution, namely the oldest chocolate factory in the city.

Gran Via (Pass by)

At this point on Gran Via, opposite Callao Square, it is clear why this avenue has often been compared to Broadway.

Calle de Madrid (Pass by)

At the end of the Gran Via you can see several imposing buildings.

Plaza de Espana (Pass by)

We now arrive to the northwest of the city, on the huge Plaza España, which at 36,900 square metres is the largest square in Spain.

Pl. de la Lealtad, 1 (Pass by)

You arrive at the foot of the hill, called the Montaña del Principe Pio. This popular name dates from the 18th century.

Temple of Debod (Pass by)

One way, a short detour to Egypt free of charge, during your stay in Spain. I take you to the mountain park, contemplate the magnificent temple of Debod.

Catedral de Santa María la Real de la Almudena (Pass by)

You're in luck. Visiting the Egyptian temple also gives you access to the gazebo for a superb view of the Almudena Cathedral and the Royal Palace.

Escultura Equestre Jardins de Sabatini (Pass by)

We now follow the beautiful gardens of Sabatini. They are named after King Charles III’s beloved architect and yet he did not design them.

Royal Palace of Madrid (Pass by)

So, we've only seen him for a while, so let's talk about this famous royal palace. It was built in 1738, to serve as a residence for the Spanish royal family.

Royal Palace of Madrid (Pass by)

The city of Madrid had the brilliant idea of developing the area of the Royal Collections Museum inaugurated at the end of 2022.

Catedral de Santa María la Real de la Almudena (Pass by)

You have seen it from afar and you are finally facing the beautiful cathedral of the Almudena. Unlike the cathedrals you are used to seeing in the world’s major cities, Madrid’s is relatively new.

Plaza de Oriente (Pass by)

You are on the eastern side of the royal palace and therefore the square you pass through is called the Place de l’Orient. Simple and efficient.

Plaza de Isabel II (Pass by)

We are now on the Opera Square. The teatro real of Madrid was requested by Queen Isabel II whose statue you see in the centre of the square.

Accidente Aereo (Pass by)

Do you see him? Look up. Look for the roof of the building that makes the corner with its beautiful balconies all glazed at the top of the pin.

Mercado San Miguel (Pass by)

It is so beautiful to arrive in front of this hall! This is the Covered Point of Sale in San Miguel!

Casa de la Villa (Pass by)

It is nice this small pedestrian square with its light brick buildings and cobblestones.

Iglesia de San Pedro El Viejo (Pass by)

See this red brick church with its large tower. It is one of the oldest churches in Madrid, the Iglesia San Pedro el Viejo.

Villaverde Alto (Pass by)

This cute little square offers you the opportunity to see one of the oldest churches in Madrid, the Church of San Andrés, and to discover the museum of the same name.

La Latina (Pass by)

We are now in the heart of the Latina district. All its winding streets date from medieval times, when they were just the suburbs around the city walls.

BOTIN (Pass by)

Look on your right, the Botin restaurant. He tells us two three super interesting things.

Calle de Cuchilleros (Pass by)

This magnificent arch is called the Arc de los Cuchilleros. It was created after the fire in Plaza Mayor in the 17th century to completely close the square.

Puerta del Sol (Pass by)

Here we are in the most famous square of the city, Puerta del Sol. So why “Door” and why “Sun”?
