What you can expect

  • Great for those with previous experience, rent a 1 person kayak on the picturesque Llyn Padarn in Llanberis. Paddle on the lake with awesome views of the Snowdonia mountains.

    Arrive at the watersports centre to collect your kayaks, paddles, wetsuits, and life jackets. Launch your kayak in sheltered lagoons 50 metres from the boat shed and practice your skills before heading off on your big lake adventure.

    The equipment is yours for 3 hours, giving you plenty of time to explore the lake and take in its beauty. The Padarn Watersports Centre can be found just off the Slate Museum Car park adjacent to the Lakeside Railway.

    Massive range of kit in stock at our watersports centre suitable for those 8 years old and up. Our single kayaks, which are stable yet manoeuvrable have a maximum recommended capacity of 120 kg.

    Please be aware that there is no guide or coach to assist you on your kayaking adventure. Llyn Padarn is not manned and does not have lifeguard patrol. Although it is possible to hire a single kayak we do not recommend going out onto the lake alone.
