  • Experience one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s most extraordinary natural attractions — the wild horses of Livno.

    Decades ago, as farming modernised, many working horses were released into the vast plateau of Kruzi on Cincar Mountain. Over time, they formed one of Europe’s largest herds of truly wild horses, now roaming freely across open highlands above Livno.

    Your adventure begins with a safety briefing before setting off in a 4x4 vehicle into the mountainous terrain. The off-road drive takes you through rolling grasslands, panoramic viewpoints, and wide open landscapes overlooking Buško Lake and the Dinaric Alps.

    With the guidance of a local expert who understands the horses’ movements and behaviour, you will search for the herd in their natural habitat. This is not a zoo or controlled environment — the horses live completely free. We observe respectfully from a safe distance, allowing them to behave naturally. In many cases, they may approach if they feel comfortable.

    The safari offers exceptional photography opportunities year-round. From green spring meadows and playful foals to golden summer plains, dramatic autumn colours, or snow-covered winter scenes, each season provides a unique backdrop.

    This experience is suitable for all ages and is ideal for nature lovers, photographers, families, and anyone seeking an authentic off-the-beaten-path adventure.
