Discover the most authentic and adventurous side of Santa Maria di Leuca on a guided coastal trekking tour along one of the most picturesque stretches of the Capo di Leuca.
The hike starts from the seafront, near the historic Torre dell'Omomorto, also known as the Dead Man's Tower. From here you will start walking along the coast, passing through the Scalo di Leuca and gradually reaching an increasingly natural and wild landscape.
Along the route, you will come across the spring, the limestone cliffs shaped by the wind and the sea, and the picturesque Baia Porcinara, with its clear waters, light-colored rocks, and natural pools. Here the landscape changes pace: the promenade gives way to the more rugged, Mediterranean coast, with the scents of the scrub, rocks, and views of the open sea.
You will continue along the last stretch of the Finibus Terrae trail to Punta Ristola, one of the most iconic spots in Santa Maria di Leuca, overlooking the southernmost tip of Salento.
From Punta Ristola, the most unique part of the experience will begin: a controlled descent to the Devil's Cave, a natural cavity linked to local legends and the geological history of the Leuca coast.
After exploring the cave and a short scenic break, you will return along the same route to the starting point.
During the trekking, the guide will tell you about the landscape, the geology, the Mediterranean vegetation, and the stories that make this stretch of coastline one of the most fascinating in Salento.
