What you can expect
Looking for a unique daytime experience in Lake Tahoe?
Step aboard The Golden Rose, a one-of-a-kind 1953 Chris-Craft Venetian Water Taxi, and experience a wine tasting cruise on Lake Tahoe unlike anything else on the water.
This is not just a boat tour, and not just a wine tasting. Tahoe Tastings is the original and longest-running wine tasting cruise on Lake Tahoe, known for creating a more intimate, elevated experience that brings the tasting room to the lake.
With a smaller group setting, this experience is intentionally designed to feel personal, relaxed, and social. Guests aren’t just passengers, they’re part of the experience. There’s space to connect, interact, and enjoy the moment together.
Guests often step aboard as strangers and leave as friends.
As you cruise along the shoreline into Emerald Bay, you’ll take in iconic sights like Fannette Island and Vikingsholm Castle, all from the water with your new friends.
Throughout the experience, your captain and crew are your guides, sharing the history of Lake Tahoe while introducing each wine in a way that is engaging, approachable, and never pretentious. Each cruise features a hand-selected, rotating wine list of 8 wines from boutique California wineries, thoughtfully curated to reflect both quality and discovery, so no two experiences feel exactly the same.
This is where wine, scenery, and connection come together. Whether you’re visiting for the first time, planning a special outing, or searching for the best things to do in South Lake Tahoe, this experience is consistently a guest favourite.
Because this isn’t just another boat tour.
This is The Wine Boat.
WHY THIS EXPERIENCE STANDS OUT
- Smaller, more intimate group, not a crowded tour
- Hosted, guided experience (not just drinks on a boat)
- Rotating boutique wines you won’t find everywhere
- Social atmosphere where guests connect and interact
- One of the most unique experiences on Lake Tahoe
Guests will have the opportunity to purchase bottles of their favourite wines at the end of the tour to enjoy during the rest of their stay in Lake Tahoe or to take home to add to their collection. If you're not looking for a full bottle, we also offer wine by the glass as well. Water and soft drink are also available and complimentary to all of our guests. If someone in your party prefers beer, we can accommodate your guest if requested in advance.
FOOD OPTIONS: Stop by the Pirate's Chest Tahoe located at the Tahoe Keys Marina for grab-and-go items like sandwiches, cheese, dips, chips, hummus, salami, and pre-made charcuterie to take with you on your wine tasting cruise! You'll find vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options as well. Just look for the life-size pirates and flags outside the store. As always, you're still welcome to bring your own snacks on the boat, if you prefer.
