Begin your adventure with a bumpy, fun ride to the Danum Valley Field Centre (DVSC/DVFC). Check in at the reception office at Lahad date. Enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive on a gravel road through stunning landscapes.
Upon arrival, receive a warm welcome during a briefing at the reception counter. your guide will lead you on your first easy walk. Enjoy a charming glimpse into a secret world where you can spot wildlife for 1.5 hours. Return for a leisurely tea break at your own pace.
As the sun sets, the real magic begins. Start your evening with dinner before heading on a night safari, depending on the weather conditions. This is when the forest's shyest stars come out to play. Imagine the adorable wide-eyed slow lorises, curious civets, and a sparkling variety of frogs and insects. It’s just like being in a live-action nature documentary. Then head back to the Danum Valley Studies Field for the night, with lights out at 11 PM.
Start your second day with the most delightful wake-up call—the amazing symphony of hundreds of jungle birds. After a delicious breakfast, set off on the main event—a guided trek lasting about 4 hours. The hike is truly an adventure, and the reward is absolutely worth it: a stunning view over endless green treetops that stretches on forever. The adventure keeps going with exploring nature and enjoying wildlife sightings. The afternoon includes a return with lunch and some time for self-activities.
At 3 PM, head out for another evening trek that will last about 2.5 hours. Enjoy a relaxed coffee or tea break at the dining hall later in the evening. Dinner will be served at the dining hall, and as night falls, another wonderful chance to explore the fascinating darkness with your knowledgeable guide, uncovering the secrets of the nocturnal wildlife in the area for one hour. After that, make your way back to the Danum Valley Studies Field for the night, and turn off the lights at 11 PM.
On your final morning, experience a beautiful sunrise at Mount Batuk (minimum 3 pax to participate). Enjoy a relaxed breakfast, perhaps spot one last monkey from the deck, and take in a nice deep breath of that wonderfully fresh jungle air. Enjoy a final little walk around the area to say goodbye to the forest before making your way back to Lahad Datu, with a camera full of memories and a heart overflowing with happiness.
