We will begin the tour at the iconic Witches' Market, located in the heart of La Paz. There, guests will be able to stroll among colourful souvenir stalls, take photographs, and learn about the ancient traditions of Andean culture.
We will also visit the shop of a well-known 'chiflera,' a wise Andean woman specialising in rituals, who will prepare a 'mesa' for us— a traditional offering used in ceremonies of thanksgiving to Pachamama, which means Mother Earth.
After the walk, we will go to our house for dinner to enjoy an authentic 'Apthapi': a traditional communal meal from the Andes. This feast includes a variety of native potatoes, chuño (dried fish), charque (dried meat), corn, cheese, and hot sauce.
After dinner, we will gather in the courtyard to prepare the 'mesa' with all the necessary ritual items (coca leaves, cinnamon, honey, etc.). Then, we will place the 'mesa' on the firewood previously prepared for the offering to the Pachamama and set it on fire.
In an intimate and respectful atmosphere, by the warmth of the campfire, we will enjoy “té con té,” a local hot drink perfect for the cold nights in La Paz. By the fire, we will give thanks for all that we have and also ask for blessings and good fortune for each participant in the ritual, until the fire reduces the offering to ashes.
We will conclude with a special incense burning ceremony for the occasion, and after the ritual is complete, guests will be able to return to their respective hotels.
