From their exquisite kimono and elegant hairstyles to their unique daily routines, Maiko represent a living tradition.

The food comes from one of Kyoto's long established restaurant. It is really traditional dishes. Dashi, soup stock is used a lot for KYOTO cuisine. To order delivery is also common and traditional style in Kyoto. We call it " Shidashi”.
You’ll experience Kyoto’s rich culture with both your eyes and your taste buds during this programme.

You’ll enjoy:

• Watching a Maiko’s tea ceremony
  Observe the graceful movements and etiquette of a traditional tea ceremony.
  If you’d like to make your own tea, we have an option. Please contact us to add the making tea option.

• Q&A Session
  This is a highlight of the programme. You won’t just see a Maiko—you’ll get to know her world.
  Ask questions directly and gain insight into her daily life.
  You’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into a hidden world.

• Photo Opportunity
  Take a commemorative photo right beside Maiko.
  As a special gift, she’ll present you with a lucky charm called a Senjyafuda.

• Dance Performance
  Enjoy two traditional dances that express the beauty of Japan’s seasons, love stories, or everyday life. The elegance of each movement will inspire you.

• Interactive Game with Maiko
  Maiko often play simple but exciting games with guests as part of their hospitality.
  Volunteers are welcome to join, but watching is just as fun!
  Clap and cheer to support the players—you’ll feel like part of one joyful team.
  Maiko are professionals… can anyone beat them?

Please note that the venue is not an “ochaya” or a traditional Japanese house. It is located in a building, but the place offers a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. No special preparation is required, and you are welcome to join without any concerns.
Depending on the situation, we may invite Geiko instead of Maiko.
This might be held with people who are not having dishes.
