Step into the world of the famous Chinese masterpiece 'Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains' on this comfortable private day trip from Kunshan. Your guide and private driver pick you up at your hotel and drive out to the Fuchun River valley near Tonglu, one of the most poetic riverscapes in all of China.

You begin in Luci, a tranquil village 'inside a painting,' where clear streams meet the river and white-walled, grey-tiled houses sit among shady trees. Birdsong and flower scent fill the air as you stroll the riverside lanes at a gentle pace, pausing wherever a view invites a photo.

Next you follow a scenic section of the centuries-old Maling Ancient Trail, an easy, well-paved stone path winding between the villages of Maokeng, Baibu Street, Maoping and Shishe. The walking is light and the route passes village shops where you can rest and refresh, with a relaxed local lunch built into the day. Maoping village charms with its Hui-style architecture strung along a clear creek, while the surrounding hills and water create the layered, misty scenery the region is loved for.

Designed as a calm, authentic-China experience rather than a strenuous hike, this private tour keeps the pace easy with plenty of time to soak in village life, taste regional food and breathe fresh mountain-river air. Pet-friendly and fully private, it is ideal for travellers who want gentle countryside beauty, heritage and tranquility in a single relaxed day.
