Aso Volcano-Nakadake Crater is free to explore, though other ticket fees are not included. If entry to the crater is banned due to volcanic activity, the itinerary will be adjusted accordingly. In case of restrictions, the visit to Kusa Senri will be extended to 90 minutes.

If entry to Aso Volcano is banned, the itinerary will be adjusted based on the situation. In case of restrictions on the crater, the time at Kusa Senri will be extended to 90 minutes. Its perfect, symmetrical cone shape, covered in lush green grass during spring and summer, makes it a striking sight against the surrounding volcanic landscape. Rising about 80 metres, the hill’s smooth, rice-bowl-like appearance stands out, creating a peaceful contrast to the rugged terrain of Mt. Aso. The scenic drive around Komezuka offers beautiful views of the Aso Caldera and nearby volcanic peaks, with the picturesque fields changing colours with the seasons, from vibrant green to golden in autumn.
