Explore the Messner Mountain Museum at the top of Mount Kronplatz. Learn about the development of modern climbing, the history of mountain climbing, and the world's most famous peaks.

Take a cable car to the top of Mount Kronplatz and visit the museum. The museum is a mirror of the world of Messner’s childhood with the Geisler peaks and the central buttress of the Heiligkreuzkofel (the most difficult climb of his life).

See the development of modern climbing, how mountain climbers gradually dared to approach the great mountain faces, and how they continuously looked for new and bigger challenges. Learn about the 250 years of progress with regard to equipment, triumphs and tragedies, great successes and deadly defeats on the world’s most famous peaks – the Matterhorn, Cerro Torre, K2 – and the depiction of this activity, however contradictory it may seem.
