What you can expect

Feel the spiritual beauty of the evening aarati at Pashupatinath Temple, one of Nepal's most famous Hindu shrines. This night ritual, held on the banks of the holy Bagmati River, is a mesmerising blend of devotion, culture, and tradition. The aarati ceremony includes chanting Vedic mantras, the rhythmic ringing of bells, priests waving oil lamps in intricate patterns, burning incense, and live music featuring classical instruments and devotional hymns.

The tour starts with a pick-up from your Kathmandu hotel in the late afternoon, followed by a drive with spectacular views to Pashupatinath Temple. Upon arrival, an experienced guide will take you through the temple complex, highlighting fascinating information about the history, religious significance, and architectural beauty of the place. Afterwards, you will be provided with free time to explore this site yourself and enjoy the serenity of the atmosphere.

At about 6 pm, the evening aarati ceremony starts on the eastern bank of the Bagmati River. The surrounding turns into a kaleidoscope of flickering lights of oil lamps, and with the air thick with the drone of prayers and music, one gets plunged into a mood of unmatched spirituality. In this unique cultural experience, one gets an insight into how deeply traditional and ritualistic the Nepalese Hinduism is.

Finally, after the aarati, you are driven back to your hotel in Kathmandu for this tour to come to an end in as emotional as it gets unforgettable.
