Begin your tour with a scenic drive into the Troodos Mountains, taking one of several routes depending on where your hotel is located. Along the way, enjoy changing landscapes — vineyards, pine forests, and mountain peaks reaching up to 2,000 metres.

One possible route leads past the Kouris Dam, one of the island’s largest reservoirs. When water levels are high, you may spot the bell tower of the submerged church of Alassa rising eerily above the surface — a sight both haunting and beautiful.

From there, the road winds through picturesque valleys towards Kakopetria, one of Cyprus’ most beloved mountain villages. Explore the old quarter, a protected heritage area of cobbled lanes, slate-roofed houses, and wooden balconies draped in flowers. The sound of the Karkotis River runs through the village, adding to its peaceful charm.

Stroll through small shops, discover local crafts and chapels, and enjoy the cool mountain breeze. Your guide will adapt the pace and stops entirely to your interests — photography, nature walks, or local life.

Before returning, visit the beautiful Millomeris Waterfall, hidden among pine trees and reached by a short forest trail. The sound of falling water and the shade of the trees make this one of the most refreshing places in Cyprus — a perfect ending to a day in the mountains.
