Being a fertile area spreading nearly 50,000 sq km, the Mekong Delta, which is also known as Vietnam’s ‘rice basket’, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Vietnam. Splitting itself into nine major tributaries, known as the name “Nine Dragons”, the mighty Mekong River is where you can experience the local daily activities.

8:00am: You will be picked up and taken to My Tho

9:30 am: You will approach the wooden motor boat to go to the Unicorn Island. On this boat travelling along the river bank, you will be going through natural creeks and tranquil villages and observe rural people going to work. You will see unique stilt houses and an interesting fishermen’s port. A large orchard that has many different types of tasty tropical fruits for your enjoyments is one of the boat’s stops during this trip.

1 hour from the previous one, the Turtle Island is another boat stop. There, you can watch the interesting transport modes which local people use to travel around.

From there, you will make your way to a bee farm where you have an opportunity to sample a tasteful cup of authentic honey tea while enjoying the folk music that is typical to only the local people in Southern Vietnam.

Then, you will be taken to a village where you can smell the attractive flavour of coconut sweets made many yards away. This is such a great opportunity to see the way the villagers make sweets and handcrafted items from coconuts. You will also know that those people can stunningly make dozens of useful products out of coconut trees.

Finally, at around 5pm, the tour finishes and back to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
