The island is made up of two islets, located on a plateau but very close to the drop-off of the Mozambique Channel. It is a prime habitat and migratory route for several species of dolphins and humpback whales. It is also a nesting site for green and hawksbill turtles. On our day trips to Iranja, you will almost certainly have the chance to swim with turtles in crystal-clear waters. At low tide, you can enjoy this incredible place, but be careful not to get caught out when the tide comes in! Turquoise water surrounds the lagoon, reflecting the sunlight and making the sea sparkle.

Programme:
We arrange pickup from your hotel to the starting point. Departure from Ambatoloaka Beach is generally at 8:45 a.m. The coordinates are approximately 13°23′ S latitude and 48°12′ E longitude [-13.3833, 48.2 in decimal degrees]. The participants in the day trip will gather and then board the boat for a 1.5-hour journey to Nosy Iranja, with the option of a stop on Nosy Antsiha to visit the Lemur Island, where there are three species to discover.
Upon arrival in Iranja, we suggest a walk to the lighthouse to enjoy a panoramic view and take photos of the sandbank. Then, you will have some time to enjoy the beach and go for a swim before a seafood lunch.
Return to the boat at 3:00 PM to head back to Nosy Be.
