What you can expect

  • Meet your guide at the Wave Rock Car Park and set off on your adventure. Follow your local Aboriginal guide to Hippo's Yawn and explore the unique rock formations.

    Take a moderate climb to the top of Wave Rock and be rewarded with spectacular 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape. If you prefer, take an opt-out route and skip the climb.

    Walk down to the bottom of the rock to view ancient hand stencils hidden beneath a rock overhang. Pass the Hyden Weir and fireplace and return along the base of Wave Rock as the granite wave towers above.

    Along the way, hear Dreaming stories of Katter Kich and cultural insights into local fauna, flora, and traditional bush foods and medicine plants.
