What you can expect

  • In the centre of the city of Hiroshima is Shukkei-en Garden, a feudal lord's garden built some 300 years ago.
During the period when Shukkeien was built, lords in various regions created large-scale daimyo gardens with ponds, and Shukkeien was one of them.
Daimyo gardens are characterised by their large area, the central location of the pond, and the fact that they reflect the scenery of various famous places in the area.
Shukkei-en also has these characteristics. In the centre of the garden is a large pond with beautiful buildings, such as a stone bridge with a beautiful curve, a boat landing, and a stage for viewing the moon.
Walking along the pathway by the pond, visitors can enjoy a variety of beautiful landscapes in the garden.
Enjoy the garden where you can enjoy nature even though you are in a big city. Enjoy the garden with a guide.
