Take a view of the city of Cape Town and the hikers snaking up this land mark. This is an ideal photo location and has amazing views of the entire bay all the way up to Blouberg beach. There is a rotating cable car taking travellers to the top.

The colourful houses are a major attraction in this city. Take a walk on the cobbled stone streets and get a selfie with the locals. Learn the local language as you interact with the locals. Visit the Bo-Kaap museum and learn the history of the Malay community who settled here after 1652. Explore this charming place and see why it is a popular film location. This is a vibrant place with a lot of international students learning at local universities. Shop for curios in the art and craft shops and the stalls from the locals. Grab yourself a selfie to these beautiful coloured houses.
Company's Gardens
  • 30m
Visit this amazing garden at the heart of the city of Cape Town. Take a leisurely walk as you admire the fauna and flora in this place. The trees are the star attractions, the ginko tree, the towering rubber tree, the ancient saffron and the 80 year old bamboo plantation. The garden is also home to South African National Gallery which houses impressive permanent collection of South African art. There is African, British, French, Dutch and Flemish art also. Another form of attraction is offered in the wide range of critters that include the pigeons, Egyptian Geese, herons, rodents and an aviary with dozens of bird species. Buy a bag of peanuts and feed the squirrels who would be glad to scamper up your arm for a snack of peanuts. The beauty of this garden is exceptional and to top it up there is a restaurant serving South Africa food. In the garden is The Iziko Museum with a planetarium which is also worth a visit.

District Six Museum is also an interesting part of the city tour. It tells of the emotional forced removals of Capetonians just like any other city in South Africa. This was during the period 1968 after a law was passed which set aside some of the areas close to the cities as designated for the whites. Learn about how it affected the non-whites up to this day. Also learn about how the city fathers reacted then and now with the unending court battles between those affected and the city fathers. Also learn how it resulted in the creation of the so called townships which are all over South African cities.

The centre of civilian rule at the Cape and the oldest standing colonial building in South Africa. Take a walk in this place where a canon is also fired everyday at 12 noon. Learn about how the respective governments between the Dutch and the British used this place for administrative purposes. Explore the William Fehr Art collection and the former house of the highest order of respect at the Cape then. Visit the place used to try cases and the former hanging chambers. A look at the collection of cutlery used by the authorities leaves you in awe.
