Overview

  • Join our cooking class for a unique 4-hour culinary experience in Marrakech. Improve your cooking skills while discovering the traditions, flavours, and history of Moroccan cuisine.

    Before cooking, we'll visit a local market to buy fresh vegetables and the ingredients needed for our recipes. Back at our family home, we'll prepare and enjoy traditional Moroccan mint tea while getting to know each other.

    The cooking class is fully hands-on. You'll learn authentic techniques for preparing Moroccan tagines, from peeling and chopping to seasoning with traditional spices such as Ras El Hanout. As we cook, we'll share stories about Moroccan culture, traditions, and everyday life.

    Working together as one team, you'll prepare several different dishes, allowing you to learn a wider variety of recipes and cooking techniques.

    At the end of the class, you'll sit down and enjoy the delicious meal you've prepared together.

Activity itinerary

After meeting at Pharmacie Bab Doukkala, we will take a short walk through a local market near our home to buy the fresh vegetables and ingredients needed for the class. We then head to our family home, just a few steps from the market. To begin, you'll learn how to prepare traditional Moroccan mint tea, which we'll enjoy together while getting to know each other. Next, we start with the dish that takes the longest to cook. While it simmers, we'll work together to prepare the remaining dishes. This hands-on approach lets you learn several authentic Moroccan recipes instead of just one. Our menu usually includes a variety of tagines, such as vegetable, chicken, beef, or kefta (meatball). We also offer couscous workshops, but please let us know in advance if you'd like to make couscous. We can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary requirements. Once everything is ready, you'll enjoy the meal you've prepared. After the class, we'll send you the recipes for everything we cooked, along with many additional Moroccan recipes. Children aged 6 years and older are welcome to join our cooking class.
