This is a Private Tour (one group only, 8 hours), Enjoy All “Must-Sees” in Your First/Second Visiting Hakone!
8:00am) Meet at “Hakone-Yumoto” or “Odawara” station. In order to fix our meeting time and place, Munetaka sends you some questions after your booking. You are recommended to stay at Hakone/Odawara area one day before because it takes around two hours from Tokyo. In case that you come to Hakone on tour date directly from Tokyo, I'll show you recommendation of riding Shinkansen from Tokyo to Odawara station (30 min only) or Limited Express Train from Shinjuku station at early morning departure. Hotel transfer not included.
1) Buy your Hakone Free Pass to go round with five kinds of public transport (train, cable car, ropeway, cruising ship, bus, it is a discount ticket for guest and guide, which costs JY6000-7100/adult, JY1500-1600/6-11years-old child for 2- or 3-day validity)
2) Visit “Yosegi-zaiku(wooden handicraft marquetry)” workshop running more than 200 years –secret box etc.–, you can experience listening to the 7th generation artisan's explanation of the production process (reservation to be done by Munetaka free of charge, staying 25min)
3) Ride bus to visit an old tea house with a thatched roof of 400 years in deep cedar forest on Old Tokaido Highway, explore to taste “Amazake” (non-alcohol & mold-fermented rice-drink, non-sugar, JY500 per person, by JY cash) and can sit at the fired hearth talking with 13th generation owner (reservation to be done free of charge, staying 25min),
4) Visit “Hakone Shrine” to pray for happiness, where is located aside “Lake Ashi” by walking 30+30 minutes or getting on swan-pedal-boat on Lake (JY1500/30min/max 3 persons), let's decide on site. Let's take photos at great red Torii Gate as background.
5) Ride cursing ship on Lake Ashi (40min) to enjoy the beautiful scenery!
6) Ride No.1 ropeway (30min) to climb up “Owakudani Valley” altitude 1044m to view Mt Fuji (if weather is fine, no clouds). Try famous sulfured black eggs (JY500/4 pcs, JY cash only) which it is said to extend your life by seven years per one egg.
7) At Owakudani, let's have earlier lunch (delicious curry rice, vegetable one also available or Japanese noodle, Tempura etc.) Please let me know if you have any dietary allergies or restrictions.
8) Get on No.2 ropeway + cable-car (15min+15 min) back to Hakone-Yumoto by riding Hakone Mountain Train(40min) that adopts switch-back operation for mountain's steep route (80 per mil), it is the world-second steepest next to Switzerland Mountain Train.
8) Get back Hakone Yumoto station around 16:00 (end of tour)
This tour is to ride five kinds of transport with Odakyu-Hakone Free Pass to go around all Hakone.
The staying time at each spot/the order of visiting spots will be changeable due to the situation of the transport, weather conditions etc.
