    • Do you guarantee an in-water whale swim? No. We only swim when sea conditions, visibility and whale behaviour make it safe and respectful.

    • How strong a swimmer do I need to be? For whale swims, you should be comfortable fin-swimming in open ocean at a brisk pace for short intervals. If you prefer, you can stay on the boat or snorkel only in sheltered areas.

    • What’s included? Premium masks/snorkels/fins, wetsuits, towels, drinks and snacks.

Activity itinerary

Join Wild Explorer Tahiti for a small-group whale-watching adventure along Tahiti’s coastline during humpback whale season (July–November). With a maximum of six guests, our experienced, certified captain and guide will take you in search of humpback whales in their natural environment, following local regulations and respecting the animals’ behaviour. Whale watching is the heart of this experience, with the possibility of snorkelling alongside whales when conditions allow. In-water encounters are never guaranteed and depend on sea conditions, whale behaviour, safety considerations, and applicable regulations. Our guide will assess each situation carefully, prioritising the well-being of both guests and whales. Swimming with whales takes place in the open ocean and requires strong, confident swimmers with good snorkelling skills. requirements: Guests wishing to enter the water must be 15–65 years old, must be able to swim at least 100 metres independently, keep their face submerged, breathe comfortably through a snorkel and fin efficiently, sometimes in waves or currents. Snorkelling equipment is provided.
