Description

Walk among the breath-taking rock formations of Kata Tjuta, also known as the Olgas. As you explore the 36 unique domes, an expert guide helps you understand the geological significance of the site, sharing its ancient history with you on your tour.

Join your guide in the afternoon and head into Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, catching sight of the incredible Uluru on the drive towards your destination. Arrive at the Walpa Gorge, named after the wind—or walpa—that whistles through the red rock walls of the Kata Tjuta formations. Your guide leads you along a rugged and rocky return trail between two of the 36 impressive domes.

As you press into the gorge, the smooth walls of the rock formations rise around you, blanketing your path with cool shade. Your guide teaches you about how the rocks were formed over millions of years from a conglomerate mixture of rock types like granite and basalt, all cemented together by sandstone.

Your journey comes to an end with a ride back to your starting point with time to relax into the afternoon or join one of the many options of evening tours offered in the area.
