The Bruce Lee Ancestral House is located in Guangzhou’s historic Enning Road area, a area famous for traditional Xiguan (Western Gate) culture and Lingnan architecture. The residence was originally built during the Republic of China era and purchased by Bruce Lee’s father, Lee Hoi-chuen, where the family lived for over a decade. It is a classic example of a Xiguan “big house”, featuring brick–wood structures, intricately carved beams, and colourful stained-glass screen panels. The main hall recreates the original setup of rosewood furniture, along with a traditional Lingnan-style courtyard, allowing visitors to appreciate the historical atmosphere of a Xiguan family home. Today, the Bruce Lee Ancestral House stands as an engaging cultural landmark, offering insight into Guangzhou’s heritage, Cantonese opera traditions, and the early environment that shaped one of the most influential cultural icons of the 20th century.
