What you can expect

Capture Granville Island from a new perspective as you snap photos of the illuminated city. Explore Granville Island, the lively shopping and arts district, at night on this comprehensive photography tour. Come day or night, but at night you will need your tripod and camera (with manual settings) in order to learn how to shoot the neon cityscape with your experienced guide.

Daytime Granville Island is a bustling market filled with fresh fruit, baked goods, coffee, flower shops and artisan crafts. Visit the marine community to capture reflections of boats, wander along the board walk and amongst the eclectic colourful shops.

Our night tour starts at twilight, where you can capture the blue sky fading into the inky darkness of night. Learn how to do long-exposure photography, light trails, light painting, and creative special effects like shallow depth of field. Stroll through this urban oasis that features a fresh market, restaurants, galleries, and unique shops—all with waterfront views of the skyline. This tour is geared towards intermediate-level photographers, and it's recommended that you bring any wide-angle lens. Big zooms not required! Don't worry if you aren't intermediate level, beginners are welcome to join.

Start time for the twilight tour changes throughout the year and you will be contacted after booking with the exact start time. It will be around 30 minutes prior to sunset.
