What you can expect

  • Immerse yourself in the historical and natural essence of the southern Soča Valley, a region where Alpine landscapes coexist with some of the most intense episodes of the First World War. We start in Nova Gorica and climb to the Kolovrat ridge, an open-air museum that's unique in Europe. We'll walk among restored trenches, tunnels, and defensive positions as we discover how the battles of the Isonzo Front unfolded, all accompanied by spectacular views of the Julian Alps and the valley.
The route continues to Tolminska Korita, a series of deep gorges and footbridges suspended over the Tolminka River. Here, the turquoise water, rock walls, and vegetation create an almost magical landscape. We'll walk along accessible trails that take us to iconic spots such as Bear's Head and Devil's Bridge, two natural formations that show the power of water and the passage of time.
After the hike, we take a break to enjoy a traditional lunch in Tolmin, where the local cuisine completes the experience.
In the afternoon, we descend to Most na Soči, a quiet village next to a turquoise lake that's perfect for relaxing, having a coffee, or simply taking in the scenery.
This sightseeing tour combines living history, lush nature, and scenic trails. Ideal for travellers seeking a balanced experience of culture, scenery, and gentle adventure in the green heart of Slovenia.
