- Takachiho Gorge Tour: Boat Operation & Refund Policy
- Boat Operation:
- The Takachiho Gorge boats may be suspended due to heavy rain or rising river levels. This decision is made by the local boat operator for your safety.
- In Case of Suspension:
- If the boats are not operating, we understand this may change your plans. Therefore, we offer you two options:
- Continue the Tour: We will replace the boat activity with a scenic walk along the upper gorge trails or a visit to the historic Takachiho Shrine. In this case, the specific boat rental fee included in your tour price will be refunded to you.
- Full Cancellation: If the boat experience is the primary reason for your visit, you may choose to cancel the entire tour and receive a full refund.
- Rain or Shine:
- The tour generally proceeds in rainy weather (unless the boats are suspended), as the "forest shrine" and the gorge take on an even more mystical and beautiful atmosphere in the mist.

Please note that due to 's booking system, reservations can be made within 14 days — but boat tickets may already be sold out by that time.

Important Note regarding Boat Reservations:
To secure a boat, your booking must be completed at least 15 days prior to your visit date, before tickets go on sale at 9:00 AM JST. Bookings made after this point cannot be guaranteed a boat. If we cannot secure a reservation, we will notify you immediately with the option of a full refund or continuing the tour without the boat.
