In this tour, you will get to see just why the Alhambra is the most visited monument of Spain. Indeed it is probably the most important architectural structure of the Middle Ages and the finest example of Islamic art left in the Western world. Let yourself be taken in by its reddish walls (in Arabic, «qa'lat al-Hamra'» means Red Castle), the speaking walls covered with beautiful and extremely intricate ceramics and plasterwork, through which you will appreciate why the Alhambra is described as Granada's - and Europe's - love letter to Moorish culture.
This is a day-trip from Seville to visit not only the Alhambra but also the old Moorish city of Granada, and the Albayzín quarter, declared UNESCO World Heritage site since 1994. You will get to experience the local culture and lifestyle in Granada, truly one of the best city´s in Spain for tapas.
In our journey from Seville to Granada, you will enjoy the magnificant Andalusian countryside while learning all about its unique geography and history.
Please, note that Alhambra tickets sell out quickly. To avoid disappointment, book ahead of time, either online or by phone. It is necessary to check the organisers if there ticket available.
ITINERARY
•We will depart from our meeting point in Seville
•Arrival in Granada (travel time 3 hours)
•Visit of the Alhambra (Nazaríes Palaces, Generalife Garden and Alcazaba) (aprox. 2 h 30')
•We will find a spot for lunch according to your needs. The suggestions are Granada's tapas or Arabic food.
Option 1: Visit the Albayzín quarter (around 2 hours). Please note that the Albayzín is situated on a hill and we will be climbing through its streets to see the following :
o Gate of Philippe V,
o Plaza Nueva,
o Darro River,
o Zafra house,
o Aljibe Moraima,
o San Nicolas square,
o Plaza Larga,
o San Salvador square,
o View to the Sacromonte
o San Nicolas viewing point
o Teteria street
Option 2: Visit the Royal Chapel and Visit the Cathedral (around 2 hours)
•Travel back to Seville (travel time 2h 45').
