Paths of lakes and stories
The ascent takes us to the Runolist mountain lodge, where we make our first stop for breakfast and prepare for the hike ahead. In front of us lies the path to the mountain lakes – crystal-clear mirrors of nature, surrounded by greenery and silence. As we drink coffee and tea by Veliko Lake, nature calms us, and every step further reveals a new shade of beauty. The scent of mountain herbs, the song of birds, and a gentle breeze become our companions.

Meeting the host
After visiting the lakes and returning to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch, we are welcomed by the caretaker with his long-awaited meal. After lunch, we visit beekeeper Čolić – a host with a warm smile and wise words about honey and life in harmony with nature. Days like this awaken respect for the land, the water, and the people who live in balance with them.

The highlight of the day
At the end of the day, when thoughts slowly begin to return home, Treskavica offers you one more wonder – the Kazani on the Željeznica River. Water erosion has carved the rocks into fascinating shapes, turning an ordinary stream into a natural gallery. Here you conclude your journey, enriched with stories, photographs, and a sense of connection with the mountain.
