What you can expect

  • Explore the natural beauty of the Fann Mountains on a day trip from Samarkand. Visit the famous seven lakes of Marguzor and see the different colours of the water as the sun changes position.

Meet your driver at your hotel in Samarkand and transfer to the Uzbek-Tajik border. Pass the border and meet your Tajikistan staff. Transfer to Panjikent and start your excursion programme with a short stop at a local market in Panjikent.

Transfer to Marguzor, the famous seven lakes, which are seven wonderful water mirrors full of mountain riverside drops. Each lake looks different whenever the sun changes its position. The colours may vary from deep blue to indigo. Most of them are cold to swim in, even in summer.

These lakes belong to the Fann Mountains system. On the western edge of the Fan Mountains in the valley of the river Shing, there are seven lakes, six of them are dammed origin, beside the lake Hazorchashma. The lakes are called Marguzor, but each of the lakes has its own name.
