01:30 a.m. – Departure from Lima
Your day begins with a private pick-up from your hotel in Lima, followed by a transfer to the bus terminal to board a Cruz del Sur bus heading to Ica. Travel comfortably and safely through the early morning hours while enjoying the changing coastal landscapes.
Upon arrival in Ica, a professional local guide will be waiting to welcome you. From there, you will continue the journey by private transport towards Nazca, accompanied by guided explanations along the route.
María Reiche Museum
Visit the María Reiche Museum, dedicated to the German mathematician and archaeologist who devoted her life to the study and preservation of the Nazca Lines. The museum provides essential context about the theories surrounding the geoglyphs, their possible astronomical significance, and María Reiche’s invaluable contribution to protecting this World Heritage site.
Nazca Lines Viewpoint
Continue to the Nazca Lines Viewpoint, where you can observe iconic figures such as the Tree and the Hands. Created between 500 B.C. and 500 A.D., these immense geoglyphs remain one of the greatest mysteries of the ancient world, fascinating visitors with their precision and scale.
Cantalloc Aqueducts
Next, explore the Cantalloc Aqueducts, an extraordinary system of underground canals engineered by the Nazca civilisation. Still functioning today, these aqueducts demonstrate the advanced hydraulic knowledge and adaptability of this ancient desert culture.
Los Paredones
For travellers who do not choose the Nazca Lines overflight, a visit to Los Paredones is included. This Inca administrative centre features impressive stone walls and platforms, offering insight into the Inca presence and control of the Nazca region.
Free Time for Lunch
Enjoy free time for lunch at a local restaurant, where you may sample traditional Peruvian dishes such as ceviche or arroz con pollo (not included).
02:00 p.m. – Journey to Huacachina
In the afternoon, depart towards the Huacachina Oasis, a drive of approximately 2.5 hours through desert landscapes.
Huacachina Oasis
Arrive at the picturesque Huacachina Oasis, a natural lagoon surrounded by palm trees and towering sand dunes. Known as the “Oasis of America,” this unique destination offers both relaxation and adventure.
Optional Activity: Experience an exhilarating dune buggy ride across the dunes, followed by sandboarding, one of the most popular desert activities (additional cost).
06:00 p.m. – Return to Lima
In the evening, begin your return to Lima by group tourist transport, arriving back at your hotel around 10:30 p.m.
