Hey travellers!
First of all—yes, I’m new to , but I'm definitely not new to being a guide. In fact, I’m the Algarve’s original hiking guide! Since 2013, I’ve led over 6,000 happy hikers on handcrafted, off-the-beaten-path adventures along the Algarve's West coast. I’d love to share one with you.
Here's what it's all about:
Step away from the typical Algarve and into something wild and unexpected. My immersive hiking experience takes us deep into the most undiscovered corners of Costa Vicentina Nature Park, on Portugal’s West Coast—where towering cliffs, hidden beaches, and raw Atlantic energy define one of Europe’s most breathtaking coastlines.
With me, you’ll discover a side of the Algarve few visitors—or even locals—ever see. Along the way, I’ll bring the land to life with stories of its history, ecology, and hidden natural wonders. This isn’t just a hike; it’s a journey through place, storey, and connection—designed for travellers who seek something more meaningful than a photo op. The pace is active but unhurried, with time to breathe, reflect, and soak it all up.
We begin in Lagos with a relaxed welcome and orientation using maps, stories, and conversation. Then we hop into my classic VW van for a scenic 35-minute drive through the countryside, leaving behind the busy Algarve for the remote and rugged wilderness of the Costa Vicentina.
Once we arrive, the adventure begins on foot. We’ll hike 8–12 km along wild cliffside trails and down to dramatic, secluded beaches. The exact route depends on the season and daily conditions, and is always tailored to meet the group’s interests, abilities, and energy levels. Expect unforgettable views, quiet moments, and a real sense of discovery. If the weather allows, we may even stop for a refreshing dip in the sea!
Along the way, I’ll bring the landscape to life with stories, science, and sensory discovery—covering everything from wild herbs and local animals to the geology and human history that shaped this coastline. You'll leave with a deep understanding and appreciation of this place that you simply cannot get by exploring on your own.
Then, the big finish: As the sun begins to set, we’ll arrive at a remote clifftop viewpoint where our homemade Algarvian tapas picnic awaits—prepared by me, using local ingredients and plenty of love. As we share this sunset feast, enjoying the rich flavours and culinary traditions of the Algarve (paired with local wine, of course!), our day gently winds down.
After watching the sun dip into the Atlanic, we return to Lagos under the first stars—feeling relaxed, rewarded, and ready for a good night's sleep, guaranteed ;)
