Enjoy an unforgettable experience in the Salar de Uyuni with a 1-day, 2-night excursion departing from La Paz. The programme includes return transfers by premium bus with dinner included and a guided tour of the GREAT SALT FLAT OF UYUNI, as well as stops at iconic attractions such as the Train Cemetery, the town of Colchani, and Incahuasi Island.
Day 1: From La Paz to Uyuni
Head to the “TODO TURISMO” office in La Paz at 8:30 pm to check in before the trip. Departure to Uyuni is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. on a premium night bus that includes dinner, light breakfast, a bottle of water, a hot drink, heating, an on-board bathroom, a thermal blanket, Wi-Fi, and a first aid kit, so you can travel comfortably during the night.
Day 2: Exploring the Uyuni Salt Flats
You'll arrive in Uyuni around 7:30 AM. You'll have free time to buy snacks or water before meeting your guide at the office. The tour kicks off at 10:30 AM, heading to the impressive salt flat.
The first stop will be the old Train Cemetery, located on the outskirts of Uyuni, where old locomotives rest in the middle of the highlands. Then you'll visit Colchani, a small town where you can buy handicrafts made with salt and traditional llama and alpaca wool fabrics.
Venture into the white immensity of the salt flat and check out a unique hotel built entirely with blocks of salt, which today functions as a museum and restaurant. After the morning visit, you'll enjoy lunch in the middle of the salt flat. You can also take a bike ride for a moment of relaxation.
Later, you'll climb to Incahuasi Island, famous for its huge cacti and petrified coral formations. (During the rainy season, between January and March, access to the island may not be available). Take advantage of the landscape to snap original photos, playing with perspectives over the vast salt surface.
At the end of the day, you'll head to a strategic point to watch the sunset over the salt flats, when the sky and the salt are tinged with spectacular colours. Toast with a glass of wine while enjoying this unique moment.
You'll head back to Uyuni between 7:15 PM and 7:45 PM. You'll need to show up at the bus office at 8:30 p.m. to board the 9:00 p.m. service to La Paz.
Day 3: Arriving in La Paz
You'll arrive in La Paz between 6:15 and 6:35, bringing this memorable adventure through the Bolivian highlands to a close.
