Itinerary
Day 1
After picking you up at the airport or at your hotel in Iquitos, we will go to the port of Nauta. There we will board a motor boat and begin our journey down the Marañon River. During the trip we will see the famous pink dolphins that usually inhabit these waters. In addition, we will replenish our strength on board with a traditional lunch.

The trip will end on the shores of a camp located in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Once we set up our tents, we will get to know the rich ecosystem of the Huaylla Lagoon. Afterwards, we will have dinner in the middle of nature. After dinner, we will embark on a night hike to look for tarantulas, scorpions and giant frogs!

The hike will end at the campsite, where we will rest until the next day.

Day 2

We will wake up early to see the sunrise and try to spot the iguanas and sloths in the area. Afterwards we will return to the camp for breakfast. With our batteries well charged, we will board a boat to navigate the Pucate River and observe various species such as monkeys, macaws and toucans. We will disembark in the middle of the jungle to camp and have a comforting lunch.

In the afternoon, we will walk through the jungle towards a lake, where we will learn how to use medicinal plants! After dinner under the stars, we will enjoy a night canoe tour. Finally, we will return to the camp to rest.

Day 3

After breakfast at the camp, we will sail down the Pucate River to watch the otters that inhabit its banks. The trip will conclude with a good lunch. After lunch we will set out on a walk through the jungle. On this route we will see the famous matapalos or “soul trees”. In addition, we will learn some survival techniques. After dinner in the middle of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, we will rest until the next day.

Day 4

We will wake up before dawn to watch the birds of the reserve. Afterwards, we will have a delicious lunch, after which you will have free time to explore the banks of the Pucate River at your leisure. Finally, we will sail to Nauta and from there we will return by road to your hotel in Iquitos. If you prefer, three hours before your flight departure we can take you to the airport.

Lodging
The tour includes 3 nights stay in campsites in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Lodging will take place in tents or tambos (shelters of Inca origin) located on the banks of rivers and lagoons in the jungle. We will provide you with complete camping equipment: mats, sleeping bags, folding tables and chairs and first aid kit.

Pick up
We can pick you up at your hotel in Iquitos or at the Iquitos airport, as long as you land no later than 12:00 noon. After making your reservation, we will contact you to arrange the exact pick up time.
