Day 1: Hanoi – Cao Bang – Pac Bo
06:00–06:30: Depart from Hanoi Old Quarter to Cao Bang via Lang Son highway. Enjoy breakfast during a short rest stop and admire the scenic Bong Lau Pass.
After lunch in Cao Bang city, visit the historic Pac Bo site where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked in 1941–1945. See Le Nin stream, Coc Bo Cave, and the Km0 marker of the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
If time allows, visit the tomb of Kim Dong, a young revolutionary hero.
18:00: Return to Cao Bang for dinner and hotel check-in. Free time to explore the city at night.
Day 2: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Nguom Ngao Cave – Ba Be Lake
06:30: After breakfast, travel through Cao Bang Global Geopark, admiring Ma Phuc Pass.
09:00: Visit Ban Gioc Waterfall, the 4th largest border waterfall in the world. Continue to explore:
Nguom Ngao Cave: A spectacular limestone cave with stunning stalactites.
Khuoi Ky Stone Village: A 400-year-old ethnic Tay village with traditional stone stilt houses.
12:30: Enjoy lunch, then depart for Ba Be Lake.
Stop en route at Phuc Sen blacksmith village, known for handmade agricultural tools.
18:30: Arrive at Pac Ngoi village by Ba Be Lake, check-in at a traditional Tay homestay.
Optional: Enjoy a local music performance by Tay ethnic people (extra cost).
Day 3: Ba Be Lake – Hanoi
06:30: Breakfast at the homestay.
07:30: Take a boat tour on Ba Be Lake, one of Vietnam’s largest natural freshwater lakes. Stops include:
Fairy Pond: A calm, blue lake surrounded by limestone mountains.
An Ma Temple: A small temple on the lake with legendary historical roots.
Widow Island (Đảo Bà Góa): Linked to the local legend of the lake’s origin.
11:00: Return to the homestay for lunch and check-out.
13:00: Depart for Hanoi.
18:30: Drop-off at your hotel, ending the tour.
