Day 1: Arrival and Spiritual Heart of Amritsar
Travel from Delhi to Amritsar by flight, train, or car. Arrive at the Golden Temple, observe head-covering and shoe removal, soak in the serene atmosphere, take a walk around the sacred pool, and catch the evening aarti.
Take a short walk to Jallianwala Bagh, a poignant memorial offering reflection on the 1919 massacre. Stroll through Heritage Street, a pedestrian zone lined with restored historic facades, traditional shops, and cafés.
Grab a bite near the temple—traditional Punjabi fare or langar (free meal inside the gurdwara). Return later to witness the Golden Temple lit up at night.
Day 2: History, Culture, and Patriotism
Experience the electrifying flag-lowering parade at the Wagah Border Ceremony. Back in town, visit the Partition Museum, a powerful museum housed in Town Hall documenting 1947 hardships and resilience.
Explore Gobindgarh Fort, a historic military fort restored as a heritage complex with museums, live shows, and bazaars. Feast on kulchas, chhole-bhature, and lassi. Try legendary Kesar Da Dhaba—century‑old dal makhani on paranthas.
Day 3: Royal Heritage and Local Experiences
Visit the lush Ram Bagh (summer palace) and museum showcasing Sikh-era history. Wander through bustling old markets—shop for Phulkari shawls, juttis, handicrafts, and sample street-food like kulcha/lassi.
Optionally, visit the Durgiana Temple, resembling the Golden Temple in architecture, or Sadda Pind for an evening cultural village experience with folk dance and Punjabi dinner. Unwind at Aurah (Ranjit Avenue) or another local eatery before departing late evening or next morning.
