Begin your adventure with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco. Travel by tourist transport for approximately 2 hours to Cusipata or Pitumarca, where a delicious buffet breakfast awaits—perfect to recharge before the adventure. After breakfast, you may use the free bathroom facilities.
Continue by vehicle to the quad bike base. Upon arrival, you will receive a safety briefing and learn how to operate your quad bike. No prior experience is required, as the vehicles are automatic and easy to handle. Professional instructors will guide you throughout the activity.
Next, enjoy an exciting 40-minute ride through breathtaking high-Andean landscapes, including mountain roads, snow-capped peaks, herds of alpacas, and scenic panoramic views.
Upon reaching the upper base, walk approximately 150 metres (around 5 minutes) to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca). At 5,036 metres above sea level, enjoy a welcome drink such as coca tea or coffee, followed by a traditional alpaca chicharrón prepared by local people in its natural environment—an authentic culinary experience unique to the region. Then, admire the famous mineral-colored mountains and enjoy free time for photos and exploration. Early departures offer the advantage of arriving before the crowds, allowing you to fully enjoy the scenery, take the best photos, and interact with llamas and alpacas accompanied by local families dressed in traditional colourful clothing, specially prepared for photographs.
Throughout the experience, your guide is fully trained to assist with altitude-related issues and carries a first aid kit and emergency oxygen at no additional cost, ensuring your safety at all times.
After visiting Rainbow Mountain, return by the same route with a 40-minute quad bike ride to the base, and continue to Cusipata or Pitumarca for a well-deserved buffet lunch featuring local products. Vegetarian options are available, and hot water is provided so you can freely prepare coca tea, muña tea, or other herbal infusions at no extra cost. During lunch, members of the local community dressed in traditional attire will join the experience. If you missed the opportunity to take photos with llamas and alpacas at the mountain, you will have another chance here.
Finally, return to Cusco with a short optional stop at the Cielopunku viewpoint in Huaro for photos. Then continue your journey back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 2:00 p.m. (depending on the selected departure time), where you will be dropped off near the Plaza de Armas.
