What you can expect

  • Experience the exclusive River, Rainforest, and Reef Tour from Cairns with Frankland Islands Reef Tours. Begin your journey by boarding our comfortable air-conditioned coach in Cairns, heading south through the UNESCO World Heritage rainforest, past fields of sugar cane, and alongside Walsh’s Pyramid – the world's tallest freestanding natural pyramid!

Enjoy a tranquil river cruise down the Mulgrave River, followed by a swift open water crossing to Normanby Island, one of the quickest routes to the heart of the Great Barrier Reef among Cairns day tours.

Frankland Islands Reef Cruises is the sole licensed operator permitted to land on Normanby Island, offering ample space and time for you to relax and explore. Customise your day with a variety of activities: embark on a beach-to-reef snorkel guided by our knowledgeable crew or discover the underwater world on a semi-submarine tour with commentary. Explore with kayaks or stand-up paddleboards, and enjoy the optional lunch box extra or bring our own!

After indulging in the sea and sun, board the vessel Wantaim for a leisurely return to Cairns, arriving back in the late afternoon.
