Embark on a 13-day trekking adventure in the Himalayas. Enjoy a guided trek through the Dzongri and Rathong Glacier, and explore the towns of Darjeeling, Yuksom, and Pelling.
Day 1: Arrival at Bagdogra Airport. Meet your representative and drive towards Darjeeling. On arrival, check-in to your hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay will be at Darjeeling.
Day 2: Early morning, drive to Tiger hill to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzongha. On your way back, visit Yiga Choling Ghoom Monastery. After breakfast, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre, and Happy valley tea Garden. After sightseeing, visit mall road and enjoy market shopping. Evening free. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 3: After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Yuksom. On arrival, check-in to your hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay will be at Yuksom.
Day 4: Walk gently uphill, following the Rathong River's gorge, through dense mixed jungle with magnolia, rhododendron, ferns, and several varieties of orchids. After an hour or so, cross the Paha Khola bridge. After two hours, stop for lunch by a bridge over a stream. Passing by sweet-smelling viburnum, cross the Prek Chu River and then ascend steeply for two or three hours to arrive at the lodge at Bakhim. Overnight stay at Camp.
Day 5: A steep climb for an hour after breakfast brings you to Phedang, a small Tibetan hamlet from where the first glimpse of the mountains can be seen. Overnight stay at Camp.
Day 6: Another short day's walking today as you are now treading above the 4,000-meter mark. Set up camp by lunchtime and spend a relaxed afternoon acclimatising. Overnight stay at Camp.
Day 7: Trek uphill till the ridge to chase the dawn. The view of the sun gliding above the mountainous horizon is breathtaking. Also, enjoy the astounding view of the neighbouring peaks. After a few steps, trek along the rhododendron bushes till you reach Chamaray. From Chamaray, a steep uphill climb to Laxmi Pokhari. Back to Dzongri which will be your camping site for the day and dinner. Overnight stay at Camp.
Day 8: Hike to Bikhbari. Dinner and overnight stay in Bikhbari camp. Overnight stay at Camp.
Day 9: Trek to Rathong Glacier in the morning. While heading to the glacier, see the stunning view of the Frey's peak, Koktang, and Kabru. Spend some time there and come back to Bikhbari for camp and overnight stay. Overnight stay at Camp.
Day 10: Spend the day at leisure to save your strength for the next day. If you wish, you can explore the vicinity nearby. Retreat for the night in tents. Overnight stay at Camp.
Day 11: Start trekking downhill to Bakhim/Tshoka for overnight stay. Overnight stay at Camp.
Day 12: Trek back to reach Yuksom. Here onwards, drive to Pelling. On arrival, check in at the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 13: After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Bagdogra Airport.
